Mile High Card Company’s Annual Premium Catalog Auction, Set For December 3rd Closing
Mile High Card Company’s Annual Premium Catalog Auction, Set For December 3rd Closing, Features World-Class “One of One” Cards and Memorabilia.

Centennial, CO - Closing out what has shaped up to be an outstanding year, Mile High Card Company is pleased to announce its holiday Premium catalog auction, which kicks off on Monday, November 17th and concludes on Wednesday, December 3rd. As MHCC traditionally does with their year-ending event, this auction has been limited to 577 total lots packed with a broad array of higher-caliber, one-of-a-kind items. MHCC founder and principal Brian Drent is particularly proud of this auction, stating, "We’ve had the opportunity to offer some incredible items this year, and the magnificent selection that this auction has to offer is going to be particularly special for world-class memorabilia collectors as well as sports card enthusiasts.”

Keeping to his word, the first six lots of the Premium auction are dedicated to rare and never before seen items of memorabilia, including a sensational 1911 Addie Joss Benefit Game Original Panoramic Photograph, the only known 1915 Boston Red Sox Ornate Silk Pillowcase Featuring Tris Speaker, sweet-spot signed baseballs of President Dwight D. Eisenhower and Roberto Clemente, the finest known 1888 A35 Goodwin "Baseball Champions" Premium Round Album, a Ray Collins Boston Red Sox Group including Travel Desk and 1912 World Champions Engraved Shaving Kit, and a Rare 1932 Montage Photo Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig Yankees World Series.

MHCC auctions typically result in record-setting performances for elite sports cards, but this Premium auction promises to rewrite the record book as well as shake up the PSA Set Registry. Leading the way is the one and only 1967 Topps Rod Carew rookie card in existence graded PSA 10, easily one of the top five single most important baseball cards of the 1960s. Other extremely rare GEM MINT baseball rookie cards include 1957 Topps #24 Bill Mazeroski PSA 10 (1 of 1), 1965 Topps #16 Astros Rookies Joe Morgan PSA 10 (1 of 2), and 1966 Topps #288 Dodgers Rookies Don Sutton PSA 10 (1 of 2). Also offered is the incredibly difficult 1951 Bowman #20 Tom Landry RC (1 of 2), 1976 Topps #148 Walter Payton RC and 1981 Topps #216 Joe Montana RC, all graded PSA 10.

In all, 135 lots in the auction carry the distinction of a PSA 10 grade, but there’s plenty of other amazing high-grade cards that collectors have been waiting years if not decades to get a shot at, including 1887 N172 Old Judge John "Monte" Ward PSA 6 EX/MT (highest ever graded), 1933 Goudey #2 Dazzy Vance PSA 8 NM/MT, 1935 Diamond Stars #54 Hank Greenberg PSA 9 MINT, 1936 Diamond Stars #103 Bill Dickey PSA 8 NM/MT, 1955 Topps #123 Sandy Koufax PSA 8.5 NM/MT+, 1958 Bell Brand Dodgers Sandy Koufax PSA 9 MINT (1 of 2), 1968 Topps #177 Mets Rookies Nolan Ryan PSA 9 MINT, and 1963 Kahn's Wieners Jerry West PSA 9 (the one and only PSA 9 in the entire set).

If signed photos are your passion, you’ll be left speechless but the heart-stopping George Burke photos featured in this auction. Exhibiting some of the strongest signatures ever encountered in the hobby, offered are signed pieces of baseball immortals Honus Wagner, Rogers Hornsby, Jimmie Foxx, Mel Ott, and Walter Johnson as well rarely seen autographed photos of Al Simmons, Grover Cleveland Alexander, Herb Pennock, Dazzy Vance, Jim Bottomley, Ed Walsh, Chief Bender and “Hack” Wilson among others.

Of course, it just wouldn’t be an MHCC auction without PSA Set Registry listed assemblages, and this auction brings you several strong options that include a 1991 Topps Desert Shield High-Grade Complete PSA Graded Set #7 on PSA Set Registry, 1958 Hires Root Beer Complete Set Completely PSA Graded #2 on PSA Set Registry, and 1968 Topps Test Teams Complete Set #1 on PSA Set Registry. All of us here at Mile High Card Company would like to acknowledge that we couldn’t produce such a spectacular auction without the support of our loyal consignors and bidders, so we once again extend a sincere “thank you” for allowing us to continue to live out our childhood dream of playing with sports cards all day. As always, we encourage you to contact us with any questions regarding auction items. MHCC is actively accepting consignments for our Spring auction; please call us at (303) 840-2784, write to us at mhcc@milehighcardco.com or visit us online at www.milehighcardco.com if you have any items you are interested in consigning.
