Original 10x8 photo on heavy stock of Phi Kappa Psi fraternity members at the University of Iowa taken in front of the fraternity house in November 1939. The photo features Nile Kinnick (back row at left) shortly before the end of the football season and shortly before he won the Heisman trophy. Kinnick was president of the fraternity. Members pictured include: (1st row) McCambridge, Kunz, Lapham, Hertzler, Powers, McKee, (2nd row) Becunier, Trickey, Grame (?), York, Conkling, Klein, Tripp, Clark, Schmidt (3rd row) Graham, George, Beekman, Stuart, Joiner, Humphrey, Stevens, Houk, Smith, Foerster, Eddy (back row) Kinnick, Douthett, Williams, Young, Swisher, Robertson, Mrs. Post (house mother), Johann, Maplethorpe, Butler, O'Meara, Bromwell, and Speedy. My father wrote the names around the margin of the photo in ink. This studio portrait was obtained from the son of one of the fraternity members. There couldn’t have been more than 30 of these made. This may be one of the rarest Kinnick photos in existence. WoW!!!!!
