Update: With special thanks to Daniel W. Stowell, Director/Editor of The Paper of Abraham Lincoln, Springfield, IL, new information has been brought to light with regards to lots #1 $ #2, the Abraham Lincoln signed documents. Both have been found to have been written in association with soldiers serving in the United States Colored Troops. Lot #2 was actually written to an African American soldier serving during the Civil War, and may be the only example offered for public sale.
